Services

Dry needling

A “dry” needle is a needle without medication. The needle is inserted through the skin into tight areas in the muscle. Dry needling releases tight muscle bands and decreases pain.

Soft tissue releasing

Pressure is applied to the muscles, improving the blood circulation and reducing the tension in the muscles.

Exercise programs

When necessary, patients will be given exercises to do at home. Exercises, together with the treatment enhances healing and recovery.

Sports strapping

Strapping can be used for treatment and prevention of sports injuries.

Postural training

Not maintaining good posture can add strain to muscles and put stress on the spine. Therefore, postural advice and training will be provided.

Scar tissue and myofascial release

Tight scar tissue and fascia can cause a lot of pain. Breaking down scar tissue and restoring the fascia can relieve painful symptoms.

Anke Groenewald Physiotherapist

I graduated with a BSc degree in physiotherapy at the University of Stellenbosch in 2011. In 2012 I spent my community service year in Tzaneen, Limpopo where I hail from.  During my community service year, I learned to think out of the box as equipment weren’t always available, to create ways of communication due to different languages and always to treat the patient in the best possible way.

I enjoyed working in orthopaedic, neurology and paediatrics wards as well as in ICU.

I started working at Miller & Associates (Melkbosstrand) in April 2013, where a whole new world opened for me. I have worked with all age groups from little children to the older population and have found that everyone has a challenge and I could help them.

In February 2017 I opened my practice in Wellington. Being a physiotherapist means the world to me. I can live to the full my passion and love for people.  I believe helping people is one of the greatest gifts one can have.  I treat patients with love, kindness and to the best of my ability.
